    Hi,
Does anyone know what's difference between Available Space and Free Space in Macbook Pro? I have Macbook pro with El Capitan OS, shows Available space 366 GB and Free space as 110 GB. How to purge it? I have 1 TB HDD.

    Thanks

    Guy

    Regarding your question

    Regarding your question

Free space is always less than the available space, the difference is the space reserved or used by the system. This space can contain temporary files, or snapshots of the system. But, normally, the difference between available and free space should not exceed 80 Gb. (Reserved for Backup or Snapshot of the system).

Clean the trashcan, to remove the recycled files. Use the most recent MacCCleaner to free space on your disk. And finally, uninstall apps that do not currently use.

I recommend that you review this website to help free space.

I hope this will be helpful for you

If you have many video files (e.e.g. movies, courses) move them to external hard disk.

These two applications can help you with free disk space
